Living the Good Life
Our values
Our stock
Adopting the Good Life has been hard work, but how satisfying it is to eat home-produced fruit and vegetables, fresh eggs and honey. Everything eventually exists in balance - the bees pollinate the crops and produce honey in return, the hen manure enriches the soil which in turn yields the crops we enjoy at their best in season.
We believe that every animal should be treated with compassion. Our birds are raised in a family environment and have daily human contact. Their health is paramount; they are wormed and treated for parasites on a regular basis and veterinary treatment is sought for any problems we cannot tackle in house.
As hobbyist poultry keepers, we do not breed large numbers of birds each season. Whilst we do incubate some eggs, we prefer to let nature take its course and have a team of Silkie broodies on call to do what comes naturally to them, resulting in healthier and happier chicks.
